Just read an article on 'homeplaces' which reminded me of why I named my business the homeplace. When trying to determine a name for my business, and going through many, I came across this picture of my mom's homeplace and remembered all her references to her homeplace. So I thought it fitting to use the name and photo for my logo.

HOMEPLACE-' the place where one was born and raised, or where a family member of blessed memory was from'. She says sometimes "Homeplace" is a term of reverance.

 

 I guess that's partially why I have always been attracted to older homes.  I like to sit and imagine who lived in them and what the families lives might have looked like. Actually this could be my homeplace as well, as we lived here when I was born and for a few years.  It is still occupied by family. Of course it had changed by the time I was born and continues to change, some good some bad. The old bank barn 'had' to go which disappointed me, but other improvements will preserve the property for many years, while families continue to create stories!
